- The idea of raising funds for a cause came to my attention first when I was in 5th Grade. We needed money for our school's library; we got the whole town to cooperate. I remember creating huge posters, a theme, a slogan, visiting local stores and asking those thought of as "wealthy" to give something back. We put together a Comedy/Play and sold tickets. It was a huge success! From there on, I have been involved in the community in many ways and have used power, influence, however you may call it, to connect others to opportunities. As media and bilingual communications consultant I must focus on first creating a sustainable business, then being a philanthropist. I worked for 15+ years in Spanish television, radio and print, 1 year for an elected official, and in 2007 I started my consulting firm. Team in Training has been quite a transforming experience. Although fundraising is not my favorite part of it, I do it diligently and believing that donations will make a difference. I admire the many people who are committed to running, fundraising, and truly saving lives. Team in Training East Bay has the best, most experienced coaches.
